Join us on Saturday, June 6th as we take another step back in history as we cruise to Salem, Ohio on curvy back roads to an underground railroad site at the Salem Historic Society. In 1856, the Underground Railroad was an organized network of secret routes and safe houses for fugitive slaves to escape to the Abolitionist Northern United States. The underground railroad started at various locations in the South and worked its way up North.

Since the homes are private and entrances are not possible, we will be taking a Trolley Tour. There will be a docent on the Trolley to answer questions. The Trolley is set up with a screen which displays over 100 slides of the insides of the homes, the underground hiding places, and several abolitionists who lived in or visited them.

We will be meeting up with the North Coast Miata Club at Ricky's English Pub Main for lunch prior to going to the Underground Railroad. The cruise will be limited to 17 individuals from each club. The trolley can only accommodate 34 individuals. You can be placed on a waiting list if the cruise is full.
